The Kohlekeller Studios near Frankfurt/Main, Germany are a music production studio for Rock music and heavy metal. In more than 20 years countless metal albums have been produced here in these studios and bands like Powerwolf, Crematory, Aborted, Hämatom, Eskimo Callboy, Benighted, Joachim Witt to name a few have recorded their music here.
Head from Kohlekeller Studios, Kristian "Kohle" Bonifer opens the studio doors for us and tells us how his "liaison against will" with EVE Audio has started, who recommended him to check out the EVE Audio SC3070 studio monitors, what nailed him and why he is now beliEVEing.
"Everything I heard on those EVE's was exactly right, was exactly correct. That meant I wasn't listening to the speakers in here, I was listening to the music. And that is the biggest compliment you can give a studio monitor."
"Really nice low end, tight and not overly hyped or anything like this. The midrange is very precise. Especially when you eq guitars you got to be able to hear all the details. And the midrange sounds very very clean... and the higher frequencies sound very very natural."
We are excited that our SC4070 has been selected as a Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Award Finalist in the category of studio monitors.
The TEC Award is widely recognized as the highest honour dedicated to our pro audio and sound recording industry. Finalists were selected from a pool of hundreds of entries and from an international committee. Becoming a TEC award nominee is a great honor for all of us at EVE Audio.
The Awards Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the Hilton Pacific Ballroom in Anaheim, USA.
Peter Lagoda is a former bass player from Germany who now works mainly as a mixing and mastering engineer but is also a music producer and musician.
Peter used to have a stereo set-up with EVE Audio monitors in his studio and converted it completely to a Dolby Atmos system. Today he works in his studio with three
SC4070, eight
SC205 and one
TS110.
"I decided to go with EVE Audio because of the balance of having fun listening to my mixes but having always the confidence to know what’s happening in my mixes because they are so honest."
"The AMT creates a wider sweet spot for your listening position. You don't have to stick with your head in one position, you can move a little bit…without loosing your stereo image."
"And the low end, man, the EVE Audio's they have sooo much power in the low end without being hyped."
Joe Stratton – aka Bothelbows, is a musician and sound engineer based in the USA. In 2021 Joe had the good fortune of being granted an artist residency at The Mill at Vicksburg, an enormous old paper mill in southwest Michigan, US recently saved from demolition, ready to be rebuilt as a world-class event space, brewery, and live music destination. The proposal presented was centered on Joe's desire to construct an ambisonic listening chamber, where spatial audio could be heard in all its three-dimensional glory. He thought that The Mill, still in the early stages of its rebirth, would be the perfect setting to cultivate some audio wonder. On his first visit he was astounded by the vast, yawning hallways and gaping subterranean spaces. Each new room presented its long brick reverberation as a tappable source of creative inspiration and potential.
The chosen venue was an approximately 500m² room in which to build the system. After an arduous process of auditioning different sets of high-quality speakers Joe decided to fill the room with an array of EVE Audio SC307s. While many speakers he tried could produce full and powerful responses, the EVE's stood out as astonishingly detailed and uncrowded. Precise and expansive without harshness in the highs or any hint of mud in the lows. He designed the set-up based on the maximum listening distance of the EVEs as midfields: eight carefully placed SC307s in an octagon, each 2.5m from the center. One pair of Eves sounded great, but four pairs were unbelievable.

Award-winning engineer Shadab Rayeen, who is very much known for his mixes with renowned Bollywood Music composers such as Pritam, Amit Trivedi and others has finished constructing his dream studio in the heart of Bollywood – Andheri West, Mumbai, India. A project that first started as the idea to accomplish from stereo to 5.1 has ended in a new Dolby Atmos music 7.1.4 mixing room. It's India's first Dolby Atmos Music studio and the first Dolby Atmos Music installation in the world that is exclusively equipped with EVE Audio studio monitors.
Aditya Modi, Modi Digital's Director
A typical Dolby Atmos Music Mix room is a 7.1.4 system containing 7 speakers at ear level all around at specific degrees, Shadab's New Edge studio has now 3 working studios. One of them is a stereo mixing room in which a pair of EVE Audio SC305 has been installed. But with no doubt is the star-attraction the specialised Dolby Atmos music room in which three SC305 and eight SC207 have found their new home as an immersive surround speaker system. Next to the sound system other attractions are for instance the motorized sit-stand desk to work comfortably for long hours and an outboard gear rack that is impressively is filled with compressors, EQ's, reverb units etc. that Shadab all uses regularly depending on the music.
